Sports Massage Poole, Bournemouth & Wareham

A wide range of individuals come to our Back2Fitness Clinics in Poole & Bournemouth for Sports Massage. Our clinics provide a number of different massage including deep tissue, Pre-event, Post Event, Injury Prevention Sports Massage and used in Injury Treatment.

Sports massage can be used to achieve a number of physiological responses and be used for different purposes.

Deep Sports Massage can able the removal of waste products and fluid from muscle.

Sports Massage encourages the increase of blood flow to muscle delivering oxygen and nutrients more readily increasing recovery and healing time.

Sports Massage encourages stretching of soft tissue such as muscle relieving tightness and tension.

Sports Massage help to align healing tissue and reduce the risk of adhesions.

Friction massage can be used on muscle, ligaments and tendon to promote healing and reductions in scar tissue.

Sports Massage can be used for the removal or reduction in Myofascial Trigger Points referred to as 'knots' in the muscle.

Pre-event Sports Massage

Pre-event massages are used to prepare athletes in the run up to events or competition just before or two days before. Massage warms the muscle, stretches the tissue increasing flexibility, reduces muscle tension, encouraging blood flow to muscle and aid psychological preparation to aid sporting performance.

Post-event Sports

Post event massages reduces the impact of competition and training on fatigued muscles, minimising swelling, stretching the muscle to maintain flexibility, encourage blood flow to the muscles removing lactic acid and other waste products. The effects of post-event massage enable overall faster recovery and healing from activity,  training or sport.

Injury Prevention Sports Massage

During all massages particularly pre and post event massages any development of an injury is prevented or treated as soon as possible. Many athletes we see at our Back2Fitness Injury Clinics come for maintenance massage. The injury prevention massage encourages recovery and preparation for training or/and competition whilst reducing the risk of injury.
